Forum Guidelines


Our FND Action forums and Facebook groups provide a space for support and discussion of all matters relating to functional neurological symptoms. These guidelines are in place with the expectation that members take personal responsibility for their presence and contributions on these platforms.


You must be over the age of 13 to join our website forums and Facebook groups.

PLEASE ENSURE if you are under the age of 18 you have sought permission to join from a consenting adult.

Personal protection

DO NOT openly share personal contact details. Consider carefully any decision to share in any other way with other members.

Respect the privacy of others by not sharing any information unless it is possible to seek permission from the poster beforehand.

Consider seriously any plans to meet other members.

If you are in a crisis or feel suicidal please seek immediate help. Many helplines are available during office opening hours and for 24hr support contact the Samaritans on 116 123, or Childline on 0800 1111 if under the age of 19. Calls are free from a landline and mobile phone.

Other Information

Respect each other’s opinions, which may differ from your own. Avoid any confrontation and if necessary, contact a moderator/admin to address the discussion.

Do not post any content or links to websites/pages for commercial or advertising purposes, unless approved by a moderator/admin beforehand.

Sensitive topics – When posting please consider any content that may be a trigger of symptoms for some. Clearly identify your post as a potential trigger, for example *TRIGGER*, where appropriate.

Moderator/admin role

The role of the moderator/admin is to oversee the communication activities and address any issues that may arise. They may engage in conversation from time to time, but this is not an expected role.

Moderators/admins reserve the right to remove any content they deem not appropriate, and will remove any members if necessary without notification.

Please accept and respect the actions of our moderating team. Moderation actions are guided by the expectation that members agree to the principle of taking personal responsibility for their contributions.
