FND Action welcome Jeanette Bramald as representative for Northern Ireland

FND Action are delighted to announce the appointment of Jeanette as our Northern Ireland representative.

“I was diagnosed with FND 4 years ago and when I realised there were no services, I knew I had to do something to help. Over the past 4 years I have liaised with neurology consultants and other health care professionals, providing them with current information and research regarding FND. I have been raising awareness across the Belfast and Northern trust. I have received a lot of support from two consultants from the Royal Victoria hospital in Belfast, who both have a great interest in FND. I have suggested a few ideas for research regarding structures of the brain and FND, as well as suitable forms of physical therapy using a multi discipline approach. These consultants have taken the time to answer all my questions, their support has been vital in FND awareness. I became a NHS volunteer under the PPI scheme, raising awareness of patients being experts in their own health.”

A Northern Ireland Facebook support group has been set up which can be accessed by CLICKING HERE.

Jeanette also runs a Facebook page where she regularly posts about news relating to FND and NEAD, both general and within Northern Ireland, local health service updates and wellbeing quotes.  CLICK HERE to follow her page.

Jeanette can be contacted directly at jeanette@fndaction.org.uk

We look forward to working with Jeanette to help improve much needed care and support for those diagnosed in Northern Ireland.
