My name is Karrie-Ann Seymour, I’m 19 years old and I was diagnosed when I was 17.
My FND causes me to experience episodes of paralysis, seizures and pain, especially in my legs. It has had a large impact on my life- putting me in a hospital bed may times, and causing me to lose my job as I was paralysed and experiencing chronic pain. I am unable to drive due to my constant seizures, but I have managed to find happiness within other activities such as sports, and being around my family.
I work to educate NHS staff about the disorder so that they’re FND aware and able to help patients more effectively!
