DONATING TO FND AWARENESS DAY

In support of the – Allied Health FND Networking Group

As many of our service users will testify to; getting the right support and treatment for their FND can be very difficult. In the same way in which FND charitable & voluntary organisations collaborate to hold events like the FND Awareness Day UK, similarly clinicians are coming together more and more to share knowledge and expertise to better serve the FND community.

In order to support this work, which correlates with our joint ethos of working together, this years Awareness Day will be in support of those clinicians and the Allied Health FND Network Group.

This group is made up of NHS Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Psychologists/Psychological Therapists who regularly work with people who have Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). There are currently 260 members from hospitals across the UK, with numbers growing all the time.

Their aims are:

  • To provide peer support and networking opportunities for NHS therapists interested in FND
  • To share knowledge and resources
  • To highlight examples of good clinical practice of FND treatment within the NHS
  • To support service development for patients with FND
