Mark Woods-Nunn is starting his journey from Cambridge to Paris this Monday (16h March) with his fellow walker, and serial adventurer, James Ketchell.
Their walk is all in aid of fundraising for FND Action and the Epilepsy Society, and will also be stopping off along the way at places, such as schools, for James to share his adventures and aspirations.
Mark was diagnosed with Epilepsy a few years ago and more recently has been also diagnosed with a functional neurological disorder (FND), which causes him to have non epileptic absence seizures that can be on a daily basis.
Mark wanted to do a fundraising event for the 2 charities he supports, and to challenge his own capabilities being in a position of not being able to drive or cycle. So, instead of choosing to perhaps do a sponsored walk around Cambridge University Botanic Garden, he has decided to WALK from Cambridge to Paris, equating to approx. 280 miles!
Mark has been taking every opportunity to promote his walk, and raise awareness of Functional Neurological Disorders and Epilepsy.
To top this, so far he has raised over £6,500 on their VIRGIN MONEY GIVING fundraising page!
Thank you!
We’ll be joining Mark and James on Thursday 19th March, and would be great if you are able to join us too, either to be at the start/send off, or join in with a stretch of the walking.
ROYDON MARINA VILLAGE carpark – 10:00-10:30am
The map of the route for the day is below, and you’ll be able to track Mark and James on this ROUTE TRACKER website.
You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
So if you see them along any of the route … stop and say hi and get a selfie!
We wish them all the luck for the journey, and hoping the Coronavirus doesn’t get in their way. Final message from James ..
