A personal story of living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
~~~
I was diagnosed with FND in October 2025, after having a cluster of non-epileptic seizures that caused a 6 month hospital stay and has left me unable to walk.
I struggle with brain fog, memory, word finding, speech, and muscle spasms daily, with the added bonus of complete loss of limb function on very difficult days.
Unfortunately I’ve not had any professional support with managing my symptoms or diagnosis. But, I am very lucky to have my family and friends who have been amazing in every possible way, and because of them,
I’m slowly learning to accept my new life and the adjustments I need, to try living an independent life again.
