Research

Neurologists frequently see patients with functional neurological symptoms, yet Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) remains under-recognised and poorly understood. Advancing research into its causes, mechanisms, and treatments is vital to improving care and outcomes.

At FND Action, we strongly believe in the valuable insights that people with lived experience bring to research. Their involvement helps shape better understanding, drive awareness, and support the development of accessible, evidence-based treatments and services.

Supporting Research

We actively support academics and researchers exploring FND by:

  • Sharing study opportunities across our website, social media, and support groups.

  • Advising on content design and accessibility for participants.

  • Encouraging patient involvement in ethically approved studies.

If you would like us to help promote your research, please email us at: 📩 contact@fndaction.org.uk

PLEASE NOTE:
This page is currently under review to improve its relevance and usefulness for people living with FND, as well as for clinicians, researchers, and academics. We will continue to promote approved studies across our social media platforms and support networks in the meantime.
