Contact Your MP About FND

If you live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), care for someone with FND, or have experienced challenges relating to diagnosis, treatment, education, benefits or support, writing to your MP can help ensure these issues are heard.

Members of Parliament (MPs) represent their constituents and can help raise awareness of FND. They can raise concerns with government departments, write to ministers, seek information on behalf of constituents and help highlight issues affecting their local communities.

MPs receive correspondence from people across their constituency and often use this information to better understand local and national issues. Personal experiences can be particularly powerful in helping decision-makers understand the real-life impact of living with FND.

How to Contact Your MP

STEP 1: Find your MP using the official UK Parliament website. [CLICK]

STEP 2: Write a short letter or email explaining:

• Your connection to FND.
• How FND has affected you or your family.
• Any challenges you have experienced.

STEP 3: Keep your message focused and personal. Your own experiences are often the most powerful part of any letter.

STEP 4: Include your name, address and postcode so your MP can confirm that you are one of their constituents.

STEP 5: Ask for a response if you would like to know what action they may be able to take.
