A personal story of living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
~~~
I started with FND 9 years ago after a Gig as a DJ. I got up and couldn’t walk.
Went to the doctors who at first thought it was Cauda Equina. I was in the hospital for 4 weeks with people saying the results for this is normal, the results for that is normal, people thinking I’m faking the fact I can’t walk.
“Why are you so tired?” they would ask. “Why can you walk one day and the next you can’t?”, “Why do you have seizures, you’re not epileptic?” Just a few questions from doubters.
I eventually got diagnosed and it all was finally confirmed. FND is new and a lot of people, including Neurological consultants, don’t like to diagnose.
Keep fighting and keep strong. You’re all amazing!!
