Online Support Groups

FND Action provides online support groups exclusively on Facebook to ensure that individuals living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), and their caregivers and loved ones, do not feel alone in their journey. Details of our online groups can be found below.

We understand that living with FND can be isolating, especially given the lack of awareness and understanding surrounding the condition. Our Facebook groups offer a safe, welcoming space to connect with others who truly understand.

Whilst we are aware that some doctors may discourage joining online groups, we do not agree with this advice. These communities offer essential emotional support, shared experiences, and practical advice – all of which help individuals better understand and manage their condition. Participating in a group like ours can also significantly reduce feelings of isolation and provide a vital space for empowerment.

Our online groups are exclusive to Facebook, providing a secure platform where members can interact, share, and learn. If you’re not already on Facebook, we encourage you to join just to access our supportive community.

Community Connection

Online support groups help eliminate isolation by allowing you to connect with others who understand what you're going through. You’re not alone on this journey.

Shared Experiences

By sharing your story and hearing others’ experiences, helps normalise your feelings, validate your challenges, and offer comfort from others who "get it."

Resource Sharing

Online groups are great for sharing useful resources - such as articles, helpful therapies, and the contact details of medical professionals specialising in FND.

Encouragement

Online support groups are a place to give and receive encouragement. Celebrating small victories and offering emotional support during tough times.

We offer 3 online groups for individuals affected by FND to connect, share, and support each other.

Main support group – which is our primary Facebook group for anyone living with FND or supporting someone with the condition. Join here to connect with others and share your experiences.

Caregivers support group – which is specifically for those who are caring for someone with FND. Share advice, emotional support, and coping strategies.

Man Cave support group – specifically for men affected by FND to discuss their experiences in a safe, supportive environment.
