Support Groups – Online & In Person

FND Action provide support/community groups, online and face to face, to ensure that individuals living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) do not feel alone in their journey. Details of current groups can be found below.

Living with FND can be isolating, especially due to the lack of awareness and understanding surrounding the condition. Our groups offer a safe and welcoming space where those diagnosed and caregivers can connect with others who truly understand.

We do not agree with doctors who advise against support groups because these communities provide essential emotional support, shared experiences, and practical advice that can help people better understand and manage their condition. This also leads to reducing isolation, and provide vital spaces to promote empowerment.

Community Connection

Support groups create a sense of belonging, allowing people to connect with others who understand their experiences, and help towards eliminating isolation.

Shared Experiences

People can share their journeys on support groups with others who understand, which can help normalize feelings and challenges, and provide emotional support.

Resource Sharing

People on support groups will often share useful resources. Such as helpful articles, therapies, and contact information of specialists and clinicians who have an understanding of FND.

Encouragement

People on support groups can inspire one another, through encouragement and motivation. Celebrating small victories and offering support during tough times.
